Creative Critical Reflection Draft 2
In our film The Neighbor, it engages with our target audience, which is teenagers and college students of the age of 14-23. Our film engages with our audience because our film relates to real life people and teenagers and how they act and interact with each other. We planned to create billboards, interviews, and social media tactics to entice our target audience to view our film in distributing our movie. In doing this, our audience can follow updates and information on when our film comes out and who is starring in it.
One way in which we tend to distribute our film is by putting up billboards. In doing this it will advertise to everyone since mostly all people drive and ones who necessarily cannot are still riding in a car, meaning that almost everyone around the world can see these billboards. In billboards around the world, movies are advertised by placing an enticing picture of the film, which is what we would do to advertise our film. Large billboards can attract anyone's eye since it is very eye-catching and makes the audience interested in who the neighbor might be.
Another way in which we tend to distribute our film is by creating interviews with popular television hosts. Interviews that would be conducted would advertise our upcoming movie by addressing the general basis of our film, answering questions about the process of filming it and playing games to promote it. By having viewers watch the interviews of the cast, they will become more invested in the general idea of our film. This would potentially lead viewers into wanting to go see the movie in theaters since it has a twist on an original horror film. To add to this, audience members might possibly like the personality of the actors and want to watch them in a movie.
One last way in which we tend to distribute our film is through social media tactics. By creating social media accounts, we can market our movie towards a younger audience since most people in the world are on social media whether it is Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, or Facebook. By marketing our mark on a younger generation, viewers would follow and keep up on updates to get more specific details about our movie, retweet and/or tweet about the upcoming movie, or send it to friends and family via direct message.
In order to distribute our film, my group and I planned on distributing it through Blu-Ray DVD, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. We would distribute our film through Blu-Ray DVD considering it allows for high-resolution quality for our film. Both Netflix and Amazon Prime allow viewers to stream and and watch, mostly any movie as many times as you would like. These types of traditional distribution will benefit our movie because our target audience mainly utilizes Netflix and Amazon Prime, which means that they will most likely watch our movie.
