AICE Media Studies Final Submission

Image
In our final submission, we changed our font to Courier New Bold since it appears more like a typewriter style to enhance the intenseness and scariness of our film. Along with this, we also gave credit to our incidental music,  Drone Dark Suspense 3. iMovie created this sound, so we decided we needed to include it in our film to credit them.

When filming our film The Neighbor ,  we integrated many technologies to make our film successful and the best that it can be. Technologies we used were a MacBook Pro, iMovie, iPhone 8 Plus, and the music app Spotify. We incorporated all of our technologies into our film and executed them carefully and to the best, we could. Each technology aspect we used contributes to the purpose of our film. One technology we utilized was a MacBook Pro. This contributes to our film because, in our film, Ally and Ashley are listening to music on a MacBook Pro. This is an essential key part in our film since Ally presses pause on the computer when Sarah begins to call her. We also used a MacBook Pro when editing our film because it was the best option to have our film come out as a high-resolution film and to have great picture quality. We also incorporated the app Spotify with the song Payphone by Maroon 5 to establish our setting and show that the girls are having fun and enjoying time to...

Creative Critical Reflection Draft 3

In creating our film The Neighbor , I was in charge of creating our script and creating our characters. Meredith was in charge of the editing for our film, Rachel took charge of directing, and Lauren took the role in creating our storyboard. I chose to create our script considering I have good creative writing skills and was passionate towards creating the script. In doing this, as a group, we all came to the conclusion that we wanted the genre of our film to be horror. Although many films are in the genre of horror, we wanted to make ours a little more creative and a different sense of feeling of horror/thriller. Along with creating the script, I also took part in acting, filming, and time management.  My production skills developed throughout our film in a positive way. As we rehearsed our script, I also gave my group members some feedback on how we should execute our lines to best fit each of our characters. By doing this, it allowed me to change some of our script once I...

Creative Critical Reflection Draft 2

In our film The Neighbor , it engages with our target audience, which is teenagers and college students of the age of 14-23. Our film engages with our audience because our film relates to real life people and teenagers and how they act and interact with each other. We planned to create billboards, interviews, and social media tactics to entice our target audience to view our film in distributing our movie. In doing this, our audience can follow updates and information on when our film comes out and who is starring in it. One way in which we tend to distribute our film is by putting up billboards. In doing this it will advertise to everyone since mostly all people drive and ones who necessarily cannot are still riding in a car, meaning that almost everyone around the world can see these billboards. In billboards around the world, movies are advertised by placing an enticing picture of the film, which is what we would do to advertise our film. Large billboards can attract...

Creative Critical Reflection Draft 1

In our film, The Neighbor,  we utilized conventions such as costumes, camera shots and angles, fonts, and incidental music. These conventions led our film to be successful and allowed us to convey our film's meaning, of horror, towards our target audience. In our film, Patty is the antagonist and Ally is the protagonist, so we decided to have Patty's costume symbolize her character, which is a creepy stalker. In our film, Patty wore all black and dark black makeup around her eyes to symbolize the creepiness within her character and to entice the audience in her appearance. Relating to the movie Hush, the antagonist was wearing all black, which is similar to Patty's costume. Ally, Ashley, and Sarah all wear similar outfits to fit their character's personalities, which are popular high school teenagers. The main character within this group of girls is Ally since Patty is obsessed with her and wants to become a new version of Ally. Ally's costume consists of a high-c...
